Mosquito Fish - 7th Grade Mrs. Liston7th grade science classrooms raise mosquito fish. Students learn about homeostasis, the role of mosquito fish in the ecosystem and what is needed for life to exist. WHMS has been doing this for the past five years. New fish are brought in each year to be raised by Mrs. Liston's 7th grade classes. Photo: March 2020

Energy and the Environment - Gateway to TechnologyMrs. Bailey's 7th graders did a Penguin House Project in Gateway to Technology. The goal was to build an insulated house for a penguin shaped ice cube. The house needs to keep the ice cube from melting when placed under 170 degree heat lamps for 20 minutes. The students build and test one house. And then build a second house to test based on the results of their first trial. Finally, the students reflect on what worked and didn’t work. Feb-March 2020
