The Calvert County Arts Council
In 4th Quarter 2018, Mrs. Branch's 8th grade art class made a tree mosaic inspired by the tree that is in the WHMS courtyard. Many of the tiles that went on the tree were nature based. The project symbolized the importance of their school environment and how all students play a part in making Windy Hill a great place. This project was funded by a grant from The Arts Council and local ceramic artist Parran Collery worked with the students.
The Tree Mosaic now hangs in the hallway outside of the art room. |

YouTube influencer Mr. Beast took on the challenge of raising $1 million by January 1, 2020 to plant 20 million trees. The goal was well exceeded with close to $22 million raised.
